There can be no second opinion that Jayakanthan is one of the best writers in Tamil literature. After Bharathiyar and Kalki perhaps it was Jayakanthan who chartered the waters of this rich language. His 75th Birthday celebrations turned out to be a tribute to the entire writer community.
Ilayarja, the music maestro had found it fit to produce a biographic documentary on the living legend. Of course,this does not mean that there are no unpleasantnesses in the film which would usually have been avoided.

There are positive notions in the film as well, one of the thing shown is how a hard core communist turns into true believer.
