A. M. Farook, Chairman, PlasTec 2008 in his
introductory address said, “More than 250 exhibitors are
participating in this exhibition from India as well as abroad”.
Tamil Nadu is leading various sectors including Automobiles,
Engineering and Food products. However, all these products are
wrapped with plastic materials. “There is no alternate reusable,
recyclable and recoverable material available”, he said.
G. Sankaran, President, CHEPMMA, in his welcome
address said that next to Leather and Engineering, Plastic plays an
important role in the country. It is a business, which involves less
investment.
Plastic producers from Maharashtra, Gujarat, New
Delhi, China, South Korea, Germany and the United States are
participating in the exhibition, he added. Plastic does not cause
any harmful effect, unless the wastes are properly discharged,
Sankaran told the gathering.
A directory on PlasTec 2008 was also released by
the Minister during the occasion.
The objective of PlasTec 2008 is to create
knowledge among entrepreneurs about the various technological
growths in the plastic industry and the newly evolved methods on
