Swadeshi Jagran Manch conducted lectures on entrepreneurial
experiences and Swami Vivekananda’s Karma Yoga on January 5 at Ma
Foi Management Consultants, Poonamallee High Road.
T Jayaraman, managing director, SECO Controls Pvt Ltd, spoke on
the topic ‘Paadhai, Payanam and Paarvai’ about energy conservation.
V V Balasubramanian, publication in-charge, Vivekananda Kendra,
Chennai, and advocate, lectured on Vivekananda’s Karma Yoga.
Jayaraman said an entrepreneur does not have freedom. He/she has
to work under multiple bosses, including customers, suppliers and
employees, he said. He further said an entrepreneur should have a
burning desire to succeed, irrespective of the various risks.
Jayaraman spoke about the various energy conservation products
like oxygen analysers, light emitting diode (LED) lights and passive
sewage system.
He said LED lights could save 60 per cent to 90 per cent of
energy and they last for 25 years. “Unlike compact fluorescent lamps
(CFL), there is no mercury, which contaminates around 30, 000 litres
of water fatally, in LED lights”, Jayaraman said.
About passive sewage system he said the treatment avoids
pollution and involves less investment.
However, he said, “People
are not coming forward to buy these energy-saving products as they
do not want to try anything new.”
V Balasubramanian said, “Karma Yoga is nothing but the science of
action.” He said people wanted gain without doing hard work.
He stressed on the importance of sacrificial attitude. He further
said we have deviated from our culture and tradition and have become
slaves to European culture.
He concluded by saying, “People have the
responsibility to act as an ambassador to preserve our culture.”
