 The
Tamil month margazhi is considered very divine and is dedicated to
Thiruppavai,
which has 30 divine verses in Tamil sung by Andal.
Andal, said to be the Avathara of Sri Lakshmi was devoted to Lord
Krishna. She considered Him her divine consort and observes paavai
nonbu (vow).
It is at this juncture, Andal rendered thiruppavai in total
devotion to the Lord.
Later, in the month of thai, Andal turned into a jyothi to mingle
(body, mind and soul) with the Lord. This is celebrated as Andal
Thirukalyanam.
 Sri
Varasiddhi Vinayakar Sath Sangam, Besant Nagar, celebrated Andal
Thirukalyanam on Tuesday at the temple premises.
Even though it happened to be a festival day (Pongal), large
number of devotees witnessed the divine wedlock.
