Out of over 10, 000 contestants, 150 were shortlisted based on their response. Among them, 17 participants- 9 Mrs. Naihaa contestants and 8 Miss. Naihaa contestants entered the semi-finals.

The Radio Jockeys of Radio Mirchi-Anjana, Shiva Shankari, Deva and Vidya entertained the huge gathering. Deva and Vidya were the judges for the contest.

At the semi-finals round, the participants were told to demonstrate their talents. The contestants of Mrs. Naihaa portrayed their talents in singing, dancing, teaching and presenting cooking recipes. Miss. Naihaa contestants also enthralled the audience by their dances and songs. Apart from showing their talents, the participants also answered a couple of questions posed by the RJs. The questions were a mixture of general knowledge, arts and movies.

At the end of the round, four Mrs. Naihaa contestants and three Miss. Naihaa contestants were selected for the final. These seven finalists were given a question in each category (Miss. Naihaa and Mrs. Naihaa), for which they had to write down their answers in a minute. The question for the finalists of Mrs. Naihaa was if both mother as well as mother-in-law were unwell at the same time, to whom would the participant attend to.

The participants gave different answers. One of them said that depending on their health condition she would attend to either her mother or her mother-in-law. Another finalist said that as per the custom, she would take care of her mother-in-law.

Venu Aravind, popular TV actor, who was the chief guest queried the contestants of both the categories. “Which one will you choose- To become Miss India or to become the wife of the richest man in the world?” The actor posed this question to the Miss. Naihaa finalists. All three of them replied that they would like to become Miss India, for they wished to stand on their own legs and be recognised by the society.

Finally, Naina Punjabi was announced the winner of Mrs. Naihaa, followed by Akila Rajaraman and Sudha Srinivasan. V. Karuna was adjudged the winner of Miss. Naihaa, while S. Swatika and B. Tamil Selvi were the first and second runners up respectively.
The winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs 25, 000 and the runners, Rs 15, 000 and Rs 10,000.

More than choosing the winners, the contest provided a platform for the ladies to showcase their talents.
