Shabnam
Resources, a registered charitable trust, conducted a workshop on
'Re-energising Children and Youth from Walkout Levels'.
The workshop began with 21 participants from various like-minded
organisations.
M R Hubert, director, Shabnam Resources, explained the purpose of
the workshop. He said it was to enthuse children at all levels where
education becomes interesting and lively, more so to prevent any
child or youth from falling into the web of walkout levels.
Training was imparted both in English and Tamil.
Dr Rawat, theatre tech exponent, began the session by making the
participants keep away their pens and books.
"The
first exercise is to analyse how good we hold relationships among
ourselves before reaching out to a child with activities like
removing chairs and replacing them without noise," Rawat said.
Other exercises included clapping with time sequence, counting
numbers rapidly by replacing signs, gestures and grunts, walking
over the floor, sharing space with others.
The
element of how we give the best performance was enacted in the
walking exercise by intensifying the time and speed.
Notable areas like difference between commitment and interest,
being physically fit to help the child, using body movements like
semi-dance to teach were highlighted.
Rex Vaz thanked Shabnam Resources and Dr Rawat for providing the
programme free.
