 An
exhibition and sale of Tiffany lamps, mirrors, jewel boxes and
Christmas gifts, made of glass by Kamla Ravikumar, will be held
at the 'Chamiers' (Anokhi), New No 85 Chamiers Road, Chennai 600
028 from November 30 to December 2, 2007. The sale is on from 10
a.m. to 8 p.m.
Kamla Ravikumar was born and raised in
Mumbai. Having done a course in art and interior design, she has
designed and decorated residential and commercial spaces in
Chennai for the last 15 years.
Kamla's love for colour, fascination with the
properties of glass and a passion for learning lead her to
pursue training in Tiffany-style stained glass in the United
States of America. Her stained glass panels and doorway arches
are housed in residences in Chennai and New Delhi.
Kamla has had several exhibitions of her
paintings. She also manages Studio 41, where she teaches art and
crafts to women and children and conducts preparatory workshops
for students planning to pursue under-graduate studies in art or
visual communication.
At Studio 41 she teaches drawing, painting,
pottery, Tanjore glass painting, Tanjore painting, stained glass
painting, fabric painting, shibori and Tiffany-style stained
glass.
