He's
the fastest rising hero among the younger cop and with his films
like 'Sandakozhi', 'Thimiru', big box office grossers, Vishal
has film-makers lining up at his door. The actor's next release
is 'Malaikottai' and there is home production 'Sathyam', too, on
the floors.
In 'Malaikottai' Vishal, apart from action and stunts, also
gets to play a full length comedy role for the first time. The
film has the first time paring of Vishal and Priyamani.
Produced
by T Ajay Kumar of Lakshmi Productions, who earlier produced 'Dhil',
'Youth', 'Jhoot' and 'Unakkum Enakkum'. The film is directed by
Bhoopathi Pandian, director of the successful Dhanush-starrers 'Devathayai
Kandein' and 'Thiruvilaiyadal'.
The cast also includes Ashish Vidyarthi and Devaraj, popular
Kannada hero who plays the baddie here. And there is Urvashi,
Nirosha, Ponnambalam, Manobala, Ajay, Dandapani, Azhagy,
Mayilsami, G M Kumar and Arthi for support.
The highlight of the film is that it was filmed
at real locations as set in the script. A two-day shoot at
Srirangam, a six-day schedule at Trichi where the climax fight
scene was shot in pouring rain, the Trichi court, the Cauvery
bridge, and the market place at Kumbhakonam where yet another
fight scene was shot. The stints were choreographed by Kanal
Kannan, and cannded by cinematographer S Vaidhi.
The
film has music by Mani Sharma. There is the re-mix of the
popular song 'Aatha Aathorama Variya', from the film 'Payanangal
Mudivathillai'. The song was picturised at the
AVM Studios, where four lavishly designed sets were erected.
Designed by art director S Maniraj, it took five days to shoot
the song. The dance choreographer was Kalyan.
To be released on September 27, the film is
to be dubbed in Telugu too as 'Bhaiya', as Vishal films have
a growing market in Andhra Pradesh too.
