Jaya TV
So you thought movie reviewing was all of fun? Critiquing a movie is a tricky and a tedious job and only people with good film background can analyze the nuances of filming without forgetting the core fact the movie is not just the apparent story shown in the screen (though for a lay man it is). To understand efforts undergone behind the process is an uphill task and it is done with aplomb by Sushasini Maniratnam..
Hasinis Pesum Padam on Jaya TV again a movie review show, but the depth of each review backed with knowledge of the industry proves enlightening for all masses. This show is on par (in fact little better than) the show hosted by Madan, Madans Thirai Parvai of Vijay TV.
This one hour prime time show is in a lively talk show format! Focus of the show never deters from analyzing new Tamil films. The show interviews actors, the Director, Producer Cinematographer, Art Designer, directors of Action and Special Effects. The discussions that divulge the labors and tribulations faced by the film crew! A lot of relevant excerpts are included to demonstrate the points. Suhasini summarises the films merits based on her own analysis. She is sincere, frank and vigorous in her comments.
More than just completing the show by trying to certify the success or failure of the movie, this is an educative show about modus operandi of filming. But trying to understand if the general public will have the real interest to comprehend technicalities of filming is a billion dollar question DO they really want such information?
This is an exclusive, relatively audacious concept which deglamorizes the vagueness that veils the silver screen. The best aspect of the show is the utter simplicity and modesty of the persons who are interviewed.
Suhasini is known for her passion towards film and her filmi family. Though there are umpteen pluses for the show, the minus is her pace of speech too fast to comprehend. The heaviness of technicalities in the discussion! And also the show gets slightly bulky and amorphous in an endeavor to squeeze too much information.
