The Marudeeswara temple which is 1200 years old and construction of MahaRajagopuram on Eastern Side was completed way in the 1960s with the benign blessing of Mahaperiyaval. The work on this mammoth project has been recommenced under the stewardship of Friday Festival Committee by roping in donors as well as well wishers like you. With the brick work of this 80 feet Rajagopuram having been completed after the Vaasthu Santhi, Ganapathi Homan etc in August 2007. The structural work has attained completion. This project estimated to cost about Rs.85 lacs is making rapid progress with the Doorframe "Nilakkal Kadhavu" ceremony having completed on 20th Jan'08. The fixing of the silpams (bommais depicting the Sthala Puranam & about the Greatness of Lord Marundeeswarar) are being done now with the Kumbabhishekam upon completion has been fixed for Friday the 23rd May, 2008.
It is our earnest appeal that to make this one a Grand Success with donations in money and material terms from the Public. As part of this project a big mandapam connecting the existing Rajagopuram and the new one is being constucted which will be safely securing the temple premises.
