Sri Srinivasa Maha Desikan belonged to the lineage of Appular. Since Lord Varadaraja himself appeared when the 'Aswamedha yaga' was being performed by Brahma at Kancheepuram, Srinivasa Desika also thought it fit to perform yagas as his daily Aradhana. Hence he selected a serene place - close to Kancheepuram - suitable and to achieve his noble ambition of performing yagas in an uninterrupted manner. He established a village there, by name Arasanipalai. He constructed a small temple for Lord Lakshmi Narayana as the presiding deity and he was performing yagas in the yaga salai very close to the temple ( 1650 AD). Even today the 'Yupa Sthamba' stands at the yaga salai with inscriptions in testimony of the numerous yagas that had been performed.
In course of time, the 'agraharvasis' started leaving the village to eke their livelihood. Hence due attention could not be paid for the maintenance and development of the temple (picture).
A few belonging to Arasanipalai approached and sought advice of Sri Nallur Arasanipalai Seva Swami - (Sri Srinivasa Raghavachar)
As guided and advised by Sri Seva Swami 'Sri Suktha Homam' was performed in a grand manner at the yaga salai in the year 1993.
Great efforts were made and the temple was renovated in 1993.
It is the considered opinion of many that a corpus fund should be raised and deposited in a bank and withdraw monthly the interest accrued. We need Rs.3,500/- to meet the remuneration for the Archakar and any other minor incidental expenditures. Hence we earnestly appeal to all the devotees of Lord Lakshmi Narayana to donate liberally and see the 'Nithya Aradhana' is performed along with certain important festivals at this small village which gave to the world many luminaries who performed countless yagas in the yaga salai close to the temple.
All the devotees may kindly send the contribution in the form of Demand Draft (DD) or crossed cheque in favour of
"SRI ABHAYA HASTHA ANJANEYA SANNIDHI STHAPANA SABHA"
and the DD / Crossed cheque may be sent to
