The Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam has released a
compact disc (CD) on the history and significance of seven ancient
temples that it owns in Tamil Nadu.
At a function held at Thiruvavaduthurai, near
Mayiladuthurai, recently, the head of the Adheenam, Sri Sivaprakasa
Shanmuga Desiga Paramacharya Swamigal, released the CD.
Kandakumar, a Tamil scholar from Tirunelveli, has
prepared the content for the CD.
Releasing the CD, the swamigal said the it
contained the history of seven ancient Siva temples owned by the
Adheenam at Thiruvidaimaruthur, Thiruvalangadu, Thirumanthurai,
Thirunallor, Thiruneelakudi, Thiruperunthurai and Suryanarkoil.
In addition, the significance of sculptures and paintings in these
temples have been explained in the CD, said the swamigal.
The CD will be available for sale in all the temples owned by the
Adheenam in Tamil Nadu. (Agencies)
