A VCD on Lord Danvantri, the God of health, and the
Danvantri
temple in Walajapet, Vellore district, is to be released at 6.15
p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2007, in Chennai.
The VCD will be released by Dr (Mrs) Y G
Parthasarathy, dean and director, Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Group
of Schools, and chairman, Bharat Kalachar.
The first copy will be received by Dr Mohan Rajan,
medical director of Rajan Eye Care Hospital, Chennai.
The documentary has been produced by Dr S V
Ramanan of Jaishree Pictures and captures the story of the Danvantri
Arokya Peedam, Walajapet, and how the temple, one of its kind in the
world, came into being through the efforts of Sri Muralidhara
Swamigal, the founder-trustee of the peedam.
The swamigal, Dr Ramanan and Y Gee Mahendra, noted
actor and secretary, Bharat Kalachar, will speak on the occasion
that will be chaired by Dr M A Venkatakrishnan.
The film will be screened at 7.15 p.m., says a
note from the organisers.
The venue is Bharat Kalachar, Sri YGP Auditorium,
17, Thirumalai Road, T Nagar, Chennai -600017 (Phone: 28341892).
