Director: Krishna Vamsi
Cast: Mahesh, Sonali Bhendre, Lakshmi, Satyanarayana.
How a love story can be interestingly weaved into a mythical theme, and the narration given a peppy modern feel is evident in 'Murari'. Mahesh (Son of Telugu hero Krishna) essays his role with easy confidence, his soft vulnerable looks endearing him to the audience. Keeping him company is the pretty Sonali Bhendre. Added to that is the emotion-packed portrayal by
Lakshmi.
It's about a family haunted by the curse of the Goddess, a male of
the family marked for death, once every 48 years. And this time it's Murari, the pampered youth of the family. But Murari is
unfazed, confident that nothing would happen to him. The goings-on in the joint family reveal a hangover of the Hindi film 'Hum Apke Hain
Kaun'.
Murari is in love with his cousin, has to deal with jealous rivals, and the Goddess's curse, but comes out triumphant in the end. A climax that would satisfy both, the superstitious and the skeptics. An engaging entertainer, dubbed from a successful Telugu film.
