Aandipatti Arasampatti

Director: Dhananjaya
Cast: Pandiarajan, Mansur Alikhan, Alex, Senthil, Manorama, Vilasini.

Pandiarajan plays the blind Aandipatti, and Mansur, the deaf, Arasampatti. New-found friends, the film is about their misadventures as they get caught in a smuggling operation and a murder. Chased by a bungling police duo, and hounded by the anti-social elements who believe the heroes have their priceless Anthrax with which they had planned to destroy the state's population, it is about how the heroes extricate themselves from the situation they had inadvertently landed themselves in.

It boasts of no big names in the cast or in the technical side. So you go with hardly any sense of expectation to view the film. Both Pandiarajan and Mansur have done whatever the script demanded of them. Alex as the bungling cop gets noticed with his spirited take-off on the characters Sivaji Ganesan had played in his films. Juvenile in its scripting and its takings, it would do better for the makers to publicise it as a children's film, and target it at the little ones in the audience!
