Cast: Srikant, Arti Chabria, Devan, Ratan, Ramesh Kanna, Nirosha.
Director: Rasool

It’s about star-crossed lovers, who meet, fall in love and then part, to encounter each other in the last reel again!

Kameshwaran, a computer engineer travelling to Kasi on a train with his grandmother, is forced to abandon his journey following heavy rain and storm. Sopna, on another train to her village with her grandfather, is in the same situation.

The duo strike up a friendship and the hero, embarrassed by his name, passes himself off as Rahul while Sopna playfully calls herself Subbulakshmi. The duo, after some trekking together and getting lost in the jungle, fall in love. But it’s parting time for the lovers, when Sopna’s father takes her back to the US with him.

The next few reels are about the hero searching for her in the US without a clue to her identity, while she makes one final trip to India to trace him out before she gives her consent to marrying a US-based suitor. Returning to the US, Sopna has these narrow misses with her lover, till finally it’s all’s well that ends well!

I didnt see but i think it wil..... - Divya, Chennai, 2/18/2004

It’s Srikant's first film in Telugu (Okariki Okaru) that has been dubbed in Tamil, with some scenes, like the comedy track-re-shot, seen earlier in his Tamil films. The actor has dubbed in his own voice. This and the fact that there are some familiar faces from the Tamil screen, and that the voice-casting has been excellent, make one forget that one is watching a dubbed-film.

Arti Chabria, a promising find, has the looks and the talent to carry her role through. It’s the debut directorial venture of Rasool, the cinematographer of many of Ramgopal Varma’s films. So, it’s not surprising that it’s the visuals and the locations that are more striking than the narration and scripting.

While the first part of the movie moves interestingly, the encounters between the lovers having a touch of humour, the second part is an overdose of melodrama, with scenes we’ve already seen in some Tamil films.
