Music Album on Annai

Saregama has recently launched a devotional album dedicated to The Mother, Shri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry. The album named ‘Vellai Rojave’ is sung by S P Balasubramaniam, P Unnikrishnan, Karthik Raman and Janani Raman. The album has been launched on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of The Mother. The music for the album has been scored by B Aravind Sriram, who has scored music for about 100 devotional albums. The lyricist is Pa. Vijay, who is also a well-known film lyricist.

The album contains 10 devotional songs, all dedicated to The Mother. Justice S. Mohan launched the album in the presence of eminent writer Sujatha and the famous music director S A Rajkumar, at a function in Spencer Plaza's Landmark. This is the first step into the devotional genre for lyricist Pa.Vijay, who has given hit songs like ‘Karuppu thaan enakku pudicha colouru’. The album is also the first devotional venture for Karthik Raman and Janani Raman. 

This Album covers a number of devotional aspects of The Mother and The Aurobindo Ashram, including the sayings of The Mother, Shri Aurobindo, Auroville, Flowers and their importance. Notable are the songs, 'Annai enum vaarthaiyile' (SPB), 'Vellai Rojavae..' (Unnikrishnan and Karthik Raman), 'Aaruthal thaa..' a soul-filling song which is sure to linger in the hearts of the listeners (Janani Raman), 'Annai Vizhi' (Kaarthik Raman) and 'Poo poovaai' (Karthik Raman and Janani Raman).

Karthik and Janani are upcoming musicians in the music field. The duo has been working hard to make a mark in this arena. Their first album was named ‘Sparisam’ - a pop album launched in 2002. Their first venture in Tamil films will be through the movies ‘Plus Two’ and ‘Thandhuvitten ennai’.
