The
Ayulkaraka, Sanishwara transited from
Rishaba Rasi to Mithuna
Rasi
on 22-July-2002 around 10.55 a.m. Sanishwara (Saturn) will reside in this
Rasi for a period of 30 months.
Mandaveli Tripura Mami
says that the transition, the Sani Peyarchi, will yield good occurrences to some and challenges to others. These challenges will make the natives undergo difficult, trying times. The endurance will make the natives more confident and pious and thus bring them closer to God. While most astrologers suggest that people born under certain Rasis should perform poojas to Saneeswara on this occasion, this is not so always. In fact, it is possible to give exact predictions and advice for each Rasi. Expert astrologer Mrs. Tripura Mami of Mandavelli gives Chennaionline an exclusive insight into this aspect.
The most dreaded Sanishwara was able to trouble every one including Lord Sarveshwara Himself. Sanishwara’s impact was such that Shiva became a lumber-jack and earned his daily wages as per a story in the “Thiruvillaiyadal
Puranam". Lord Muruga became a tree while courting Shree Valli. Sanishwara has not spared any God or King (Nala) or Ashura (Ravana). But Lord Ganasha and Lord Anjaneya are immune to Sanishwara’s afflictions. Thus Tripura Mami advises all the devotees to offer primary prayers to these two Gods Vinayaka - eliminator of obstacles and Anjaneya the benefactor of good tidings and beget their blessings.
Poojas are particularly auspicious at the
Saneeswara shrine at
Tirunallar, at Kuchannor near Theni, Vadanallar in Adambakkam,
Chennai and Shani Shinganapur at
Maharashtra. If it is not possible to visit any of these shrines, poojas can be performed at other temples (usually Siva temples), which have a shrine to Saneeswara. Prayers to the Sun God will also prove beneficial, as Lord Sani is the offspring of Sun and Chaaya. Mami concludes by exhorting us to donate liberally to the handicapped, as this will please Sani Bhagawan the most.
