Road to Success

Today there is a boom in the field of business and in such a highly competitive atmosphere, if one has to increase the demand, there should be direct contact with the consumers. To attract them, one has to be sure of their needs and only then can the target be achieved.

Hariharaputhiran's 'Pride Academy for Selling Excellence' is a company that he has been running successfully for more than 10 years, through which he has been conducting classes on 'Training in Marketing'.

Hari alias Hariharaputhiran is a Post Graduate in Psychology and stood first in Madras University in 1960.

He was working with 'Goodlass Nerolac Paints Ltd' for 30 years and when he turned 50, he left the company and started one on his own. His company 'Pride Paints and Chemicals Pvt. Ltd' is in West Mambalam, Chennai.

Hari firmly believes that a man should continue to work and there is no need for rest. When he turned 50, he realised that in another eight years he would have to face retirement and he didn't want to be in such a situation. Thoughts should transform into decisions, otherwise they would get dissipated by delay. That is why he took a decision in time, and started a company of his own.

He worked hard day and night and through his vast experience introduced new techniques. His first product was 'Arosems Cement Paint'. He achieved success in this endeavour of his and to celebrate his success, he sent 20 dealers to the US on a tour.

He conducts classes on how to improve one's business, how to sell products in the market and the techniques to employ. The classes were well received. That led to classes, based on these techniques, for many institutions.

His first aim was to train workers of the lower rung, who knew only Tamil. He conducted a training session for PEPSI for three days, and every one participated with a lot of enthusiasm. Hari believes in conducting these sessions only in Tamil, which enables the workers to comprehend what is taught.

Leading companies like PEPSI, ICI, Bridger, Addison, Jenson and Nicholson have engaged Hari to conduct such sessions so as to improve their sales and increase their profits. This training imparts confidence and leads them to success. 

Truth, Hardwork and Success are the three mantras, which, Hari maintains, will guarantee progress. Talent is dormant in every individual, it has to be nurtured to facilitate excellence and provide fulfillment.

Asian Paints has entrusted him with the responsibility of selecting 20 sales personnel.
