“He is people-friendly and is easily approachable,” declares an employee of Cosmopolitan Club. “I want to be of some use to society,” explains SPL who is the executive member in charge of library, children and ladies wing.

He feels that music should be initiated into society and it should not be confined to music halls and temples alone. SPL’s brainwave, ‘Cosmo Cultural Nights’, where he has introduced classical music and dance programmes, is a success.

“The number of listeners who are listening to the programme has increased,” declares SPL proudly. A Rotarian, he is currently Associate Chairman for Commercial Services for Rotary Dist 3230. “A think tank”, he is involved in introducing reforms to help the poor and needy.

He gives an opportunity for every individual to showcase their talent through programmes. “We invite people excelling in their own profession to share with us about their success stories,” declares SPL.

A business magnate, has he got any time to look after his establishments? Yes, he does, confesses his wife. Probably, his sleeping hours are little. He is a distributor of solar power equipment, being one of the pioneers in popularising alternative energy. Besides his plantations in Malaysia and India, he has an orchard in Devakottai.

A devout person, he believes the supremacy of the Almighty. He is the executive trustee of Rukmini Devi Arundale Trust and Koviloor Madalayam. “It is a divine decree that I should be in the board of both,” states SPL.

This humble ambassador of peace and values has a supportive family. His wife Muthal supports him in all his endeavours. His daughter is a vainika residing in New York and his second son is a computer engineer, also in USA. His first son is a management consultant in Chennai.

Besides the work schedule, he spends time reading books, listening to music and swimming. A widely travelled person, he feels that travel is education. He is hailed for his humility and honesty.
