Panache and elan are the words you would opt for to describe the new Van Heusen store that was launched recently at R.K.Salai. The 5000 sq ft store is the biggest in the country and is one of the largest stores in the world.

Pastel shades of turquoise, yellow and green are the colors of this season as a mood of serenity and tranquility is created. Says Shital Mehta, COO, Van Heusen, "Light and classic shades like yellows and greens will look best this season and dark colors a strict no-no. Half-sleeved shirts are in which are both formal and fashionable." The formal collection at Van Heusen has emphasized collars and cuffs, which are of international styling.

With the marriage season on the cards, Van Heusen also has the Master of Ceremonies collection featuring suits for the groom to look classy on the D-day. Black which was the most opted shade for suits is now replaced by colors like ash grey, elephant grey, steel grey etc.

The Spring Summer collection also has semi-formal suits in shades of white and cream creating the right mood for the season which has a mixture of both wool and silk. For the women, both the formal, corporate collection and the semi-formal and casual collections are there. Shades of mauve, pink, grey, gold and white have been used for the clothes, of which some are knitted. This store also has accessories like belts, shoes, bags which would make the shopping complete at one store itself. This store also has dedicated an entire floor to the club and party wear which has shirts and coats with dark shades of blues, violets giving a luminescent look.

So how far is this store a good investment? "It is entirely a satisfactory investment and we have also chosen a good location which will attract people who know what to buy and have an exact idea of their purchase. I have invested around crore and a half on this store and I 'am sure Chennai's consumers who are discerning and experimenting will have a good pick from our store," says Shital Mehta.
