As a youngster sees it.

Nightlife In Chennai

Ever wondered why you are being asked to leave even though you just got there? Coz its against the law here in Chennai to have fun. Those in-charge may say that youngsters idea of fun is getting drunk and crashing vehicles, killing cows and people while they are at it. Well, its a load of non-sense. Designated drivers have always been there and gotten many friends home safely on many a night. Parties are out so the in thing is after-party.

When did Chennai lose out ? Just before Bangalore is the answer. No more walking around the city at 2 a.m. and looking at every disgruntled fellow at random. Is it alright to let the government morally police us? Do they have the right to say Stay home, if you do come out I will strike you with vengeance? The Tamilnadu police have a lot of time on their hands to deal with people who want their dose of fun. Life is no longer about Sticking it to the man. Nobody cares anymore.

Whenever the rules disappear and the people of Chennai are no longer morally policed, it means that all the ugly incidents that took place a while ago are forgotten. What you have to understand is that Chennai is a metro just like Mumbai. A bomb blast kills hundreds yet two days later people travel the same path as though nothing happened. Life goes on come what may, as long as were here why not take things a little lighter?

See you when freedom is restored.
