' Man Yo Shu' in Japanese means ' 'Collection of Myriad leaves ' or ' 'Collection of Myriad ages '. It is the oldest existing collection of Japanese poetry containing about 4500 poems dated back from 6th century to 8th century. Mrs. Fumiko Chandramouli has taken nine poems of this colletion.

Mrs. Fumika is a Japanese national and graduate in philosophy and literature from Waseda universtiy , Tokyo. Its her sheer passion for performing arts that brought her all the way from Tokyo to Chennai . She is a proud student of Kalashektra.

The poems selected by Mrs.Fumiko for the recital visualize the beauty of their land along with their sentimental feelings in contrast to the seasons. Adding to the glitter of the evening, she is wearing a Japanese costume and reciting the peotic lines and visualizing it using Bharatanatyam technique. Now, thats really a good piece of creativity.

Eminent educationist Dr.Meena Muthiah and Bharatnatyam exponent Dr.Sudharani Raghupathy will grace the unique function.

Chennai dance lovers are for a real treat, indeed.
