The AXIS bank in R.A. Puram has launched a new form of banking called Priority Banking. The only bank in Chennai to start off with this initiative, AXIS Bank, RA Puram is dedicating the 1st floor of their office premises to priority banking.
The Bank will indentify its priority customers who will be given certain special privileges. According to their policies, customers having above Rs. 1 lakh will automatically become their priority customers.
According to V. Shankar, Executive Operations, AXIS Bank- RA Puram branch, "Priority banking is essentially doorstep banking. The customers no longer have to stand endlessly in queues. They can directly approach the priority banking branch for any operations and can make use of all the facilities available for them. The priority customers can hold office meetings, can access the internet for free and can use the conference rooms. A separate kids play area has also been designed for the entertainment of the young ones."
The office premises hold three levels. While the basement has the lockers and the safe the ground floor is for General Operations. The first floor is dedicated to priority banking.
The RA Puram branch is headed by Swapna Nair, Asst Vice President and Ms. Shiv Shankari is the Priority Banking Relationship Manager.
According to Ms Swapna Nair , expansion of these operations to the other branches across the city is in process.
