hairdressers, dhobis, those engaged in the manufacture of footwear
and leather products, blacksmiths and potters recently.
T. M. Anbarasan, Minister for Labour Welfare,
Government of Tamil Nadu distributed the accessories to the members
of the board drawn from the districts of Chennai, Vellore,
Tiruvannamalai, Tiruvallur, Villupuram and Cuddalore.
The tools included branded electric iron box,
electric pottery machine and various tools for the hairdressers,
blacksmiths and the makers of footwear and leather products.
Around
150 members were benefited. However, they were not satisfied with
their wares. The dhobis preferred the iron box made of metal to the
electric box as the traditional ones are more efficient. Similarly,
the potters felt that the motor with higher horse power capacity
would have been more useful to them. The hairdressers also expected
a more effective hairdresser kit.
At this, the officials promised the members that the
products will be replaced.
