Every child aspires to be a hero, and the road to success is through a school. This seems to be the leitmotif of Agaram Foundation, an NGO by Tamil's leading superstar, Surya to promote the role of education in the society. In its endeavor to create awareness on school dropouts, Agaram presented a non-profit short film, "Herovaa Zerovaa" at a press conference held in Chennai.
With the message "Only the educated are heroes", this film aims to encourage students to take education more seriously. The film was based on the statistics collected by the educational deportment on Child laborer, lack of women education, ignorance of parents and disinterest among kids and a small effort to aid the government's initiative to create a classless society through education.
This short film made by Agaram Foundation for the Ministry of School Education features Actors Vijay, Surya, Madhavan and Jyothika among others. K.V. Anand was the cinematographer while Harris Jeyaraj composed the music. Priya has directed the film. Sreekar Prasad has done the editing and Art Direction is by Rajeevan. Na. Muthukumar has penned the lyrics.
Speaking on the occasion Actor Surya, Chairman, Agaram Foundation, said," Every initiative at Agaram is not only done with service in mind but with an inherent sense of social responsibility. It is indeed a crying shame that we have not turned a 100% literate society even in this information age. We at Agaram, have adopted various ways to encourage eradication of illiteracy from the society and this film is a small step towards that direction."
