UrvasiI enjoyed viewing an interview in Malayalam in the Kairali TV with film star Urvasi. The questions were blunt and forthright while she was brutally frank, candid and totally outspoken.

'There is a charge against you that most of the time you are not in your senses. You are under the influence of liquor or drugs and thus you are not in a position to care for your daughter,' remarked John, who interviewed her. 'You see, I cannot be answering the numerous charges that are leveled against me. I have neither the time nor the inclination to respond to such insinuations', she uncomplainingly responded.

'Did you not untwine the mustache of a policeman who was on security duty at the family court when you were coming out after the hearing?'

'Yes, I did. There were several people including my fans who had assembled there. I wanted to avoid them. This man had promised me tht he would help me. On the other hand, I discovered that he was in fact helping the crowd, by giving them gestural indications that i am hiding behind the door. That did provoke me.'

'We are told your mother and sister took your daughter away from you'

'Not only my daughter, but my husband as well.'

'Have you cried in private about what happened?'

'Well, since I came to the film world when I was fourteen, I couldn't have much of formal education. I want my daughter to be highly educated. That is the aim of my life. Now that she is separated from me, I don't know what to say.'

She didn't show any emotion throughout the interview. She has certainly matured.

kapilsibalOur Union Minister Kapil Sibal has made his maiden sojourn into the literary sphere - an inspirational digression from law and politics. The book is titled 'I witness'. There was a reading session in Chennai the other day. He says it was Kushwant Singh who asked him to publish whatever poems he had jotted down.

'Rajesh R, my secretary had the most difficult task to perform. He had to spend long hours transcribing the anthology and occasionally, with some hesitation, corrected me. I have in the last two months realized that one should have the capacity to learn from everyone.' That was Kapil, Mr Frank!

Let me quote from one of his poems.

'A good journalist is one who:
Rejects the
Reasonable
Suspects the
Probable
Embraces the
Improbable
Investigates the
Unconscionable'

Somehow, I have started loving him!

DNA'The thought-current of cheerful willingness makes a marvellous beginning it's the first decisive step towards agelessness. Cheer and readiness materialise qualitatively in your cells as elasticity, strength, vitality, alertness.

The second step is to exercise. Sluggish oxygen-circulation scatters cellular intelligence which accesses the DNA's self-repair mechanism through subtle radio-like vibrations. Being sedentary, eating foods that slow digestion, smoking, overdoing on drugs and alcohol disrupt these vibrations and cause impurities like plaque to amass in the arteries. Exercise begins the beautiful process of purifying the system,' says Bharat Savur in a local daily. He begins by saying that 'Ageing is an unnatural process, declares Ayurveda.'

There's a fit and healthy young lady who does this with such love, she's amazing. When offered a jalebi, she exclaimed warmly, "Oh, how beautiful it is so juicy and sweet!" Then, added in a gentle, regretful tone, "But, I'm sorry I can't eat it. Thank you so much." Cutting out empty calories with loving firmness helps you have the constitution of a 16-year-old at 30." Goodbye, my dear Jalebi!
