Whirling Ways

Whirling-WaysMotorists and chaffeurs have to ruminate on roads not about their families or amours but about the sudden traffic diversion. We have to feel the pulse of the place before embarking on a voyage to the destination.

While on a trip to Mylapore recently I kept circling the Kapaleeswarar temple umpteen times to reach the opposite Devanathan street. In fact it was a blessing in disguise as I had the good fortune of circumambulating the Kapaleeswarar temple. I enquired the police who was diverting the route he mused that it is a perennial affair and that people should be prepared to face it.

A visit to T Nagar is rubbing shoulders with Satan. We traversed the nook and cranny of T Nagar to reach one end of the road to other end. You will be disgusted to read my travails in reaching Teynampet, Tnagar's neighbour. Besides abounding in traffic diversions there are countless one ways. The best mode of transport to visit Tnagar is by auto reminded my friend who is mortally scared of going anywhere near T Nagar.

In order to shop in Pondy bazaar, Maya's plaza we parked our car in the Gopalakrishna road. Intoxicated with the articles and the gourmets delight at Saravana bhavan I leisurely got into the car to proceed to Teynampet. Since the road bridging T Nagar with Pondy bazaar is one-way, we had to crisscross various roads to reach Teynampet.

The roads are less traveled but thankfully I caught a glimpse of the parts of T Nagar. We had to round the road to reach the destination. The residents of north T Nagar and the pockets which are sandwiched between Usman road and Thirumalai pillai road are wailing about the prevailing diversions and one-ways which keep changing like a chameleon.

To reach Usman road from Thirumalai pillai road, one has to trek through Thirumurthi street and Sarangapani street and take a detour via Bazullah road to enter the newly constructed flyover at coats road .

Kodambakkam bridge which is the gate way to showbiz is always riddled with bottle neck jam because of diversions. We have to take a turn near Kamdar nagar to reach T Nagar from Kodambakkam.

The unprecedented diversion and one-ways is matter of ennui. No wonder...Motorists and chauffeurs have to ruminate on roads not about their families or amours but about the sudden traffic diversion.
