A lacuna in this age of global travel is the lack of knowledge and resources to protect oneself, during travel to other countries, both for business and pleasure. Vaccine requirements vary with age, health, lifestyle and occupational factors. To cater to the the adult immunization and travel-related health needs of citizens, a first of its kind clinic in India is set up in T Nagar .
Boosters, the Immune and Travel Clinic, the brain child of Dr.V.Ramasubramanian, Senior Consultant, Infectious Diseases at Apollo Hospitals, was launched in the city recently.
Situated in the heart of the city, the clinic will also be a boon to global travelers, who have limited alternative options to get their destination specific mandatory vaccinations. The clinic will be useful to all adolescents, adults, health care workers, global travelers and Corporates.
Boosters is dedicated to preventive health and offers comprehensive immunization services to teens and adults.
Dr.V.Ramasubramanian, Managing Director, Boosters, said "The adult immunization centre will provide knowledge about the various adult vaccinations, make them available both at the centre and at the place of work, maintaining strict cold chain systems to keep the vaccines effective. These vaccinations will provide protection for several years, against typhoid, jaundice, chicken-pox, pneumococcal infections etc. Vaccination follow-up services and recalls for booster doses will also be provided".
Prophylactic medicines, advice on likely infections and health problems at the destinations and point of contact in case of illness will all be provided.
