There has always been a social stigma attached to people with AIDS,
be it in the family, workplace or in the community.
This blemish is slowly reducing, and our aim is to completely
eradicate discrimination of people living with AIDS, says Mr.
K.K.Abhraham, boldly, brimming with confidence. Mr. Abraham, the
President of INP+ leads the largest network of people with AIDS in the
whole world. Indian Network of people living with AIDS (INP+) is known
for its pioneering initiatives to improve the condition of people
suffering from this chronic disease for more than a decade now.
The team at INP+ is driven to reduce or completely eradicate
discrimination of people with AIDS and put on a pedestal, their quality
of life. Motivated by their aim and vision, INP+ is the force behind
many awareness workshops, treatment centers, counseling centers and
rehabilitation centers in rural and urban India.
One of his very commendable initiatives in this regard is a photo
exhibition, which documents the cheerful and highly spirited lives of
the people with AIDS across the country. Ace photographer, Mr.Shaju John
has frozen frames of positivity and joy among all these people, in
highly prevalent states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
"Every photograph has been conceptualized to bring out a very genuine
and candid expression of joy", says Mr. John. 'Positive Journey Through
Life' is a collection of aesthetically splendid images, each with a
story to tell. Mr. Abraham and Mr. John unanimously agree that a
photograph has tremendous impact on human mind, hence this excellent
collection of photographs which sets each one to think and act
favorably.
