LifeCell International private limited along with Virgo event conducted Mrs Chennai 2008 contest held at Kamarajar Memorial hall on December 4th 2008. Mrs Chennai 2008 gave an opportunity for all married women to participate and showcase her talent on the ramp. The contestants were judged on the basis of her confidence, poise and spontaneity in answering the judges’ question.
The judges for the event were actress Uma Riyaz, dancer and TV actress Sunitha Anand, Md of Amritanjan health care and singer Srilekha.
Shreya was adjudged as Mrs Chennai 2008 and Rachna and Reema were second and third runner up respectively.
For the first time in India Virgo events organized an exclusive round for pregnant women ‘The Future Moms’ sponsored by LifeCell International. 10 pregnant women swayed to the music of children’s songs and answered to the questions asked by the judges on motherhood and childcare.
Speaking at the occasion Mr. Mayur Abhaya, resident and executive director, LifeCell International said “LifeCell has taken the lead in conducting such a unique event for the first time in India for recognizing and honoring pregnant women for her talent. Future Mom contest has been a grand success in its first year. We have seen a lot of excitement among the participants and we hope to continue this as our annual event.”
The judges for the Future Mom contest were Dr. Priya Selvaraj, of G.G Hospital and Miss. Rekha Sudarshan, an antenatal specialist who adjudged Mrs. Lakshmi Srinivasan as Future Mom 2008. Mrs. Aparna Satishkumar and Mrs. Nandini Anand Lalwani were first and second runner up respectively.
One of the contestant sums up saying, “The whole event was a great idea and we are very glad that LifeCell International private limited has given us this opportunity to be a part of such an interesting contest. This event was not only entertaining but equally educative as Miss. Rekha shared many tips and facts on pregnancy management during some of our earlier programme which is sure to help us during our pregnancy. We are thankful to the organizers.”
The show was choreographed by Mr. Sanjay Asrani and compeered by TV anchor and actress Miss. Priyadarshini.
