Rajalakshmi Vidhyashram, formerly known as St. Johns today celebrated "Induction day". This was the first official function after the take over of the management by REC Trust.

Ms. Madhuvanti Arun, grandchild of Mrs. YGP was guest of honor at the induction ceremony of pupil leaders.

Speaking about the take over, Ms. Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Engineering College said "Having run institution on the higher education, we are completely aware of the setbacks of the school children when they enter a professional college. REC will work towards betterment of the quality of the school guiding them on a broader vision and career"
