Sornammal Education Trust is organizing a 5-day training program on enumeration techniques, for all the members of the SHGs under the aegis of Sornammal Education Trust, starting today. The program was inaugurated by Mr. K. Pandia Rajan, Managing Director, Ma Foi Management Consultants, in the presence of Reverend Father Albert Muthu Malai, Principal, Loyola College and Reverend Father Amal, Rector.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. K. Pandia Rajan, Managing Director, Ma Foi Management Consultants, said, "There are an increasing number of market research activities that are being undertaken by corporates, to understand consumer behavior. Such activities involve the use of enumeration techniques. Through this program, we aim to impart skills that will help an individual to effectively apply analytic tools and techniques, during the enumeration process, and thereby enable more women to earn a sustainable livelihood."

The participants of the program are women from the SHGs who have completed Class 10. The program is also being extended to the youth of their families, as well as widows and women who were deserted by their husbands.

The program is being conducted by eminent scholars like Dr. Joe Arun, Executive Director, IDCR; Dr. Henry Jerome, National Advisor, AICUF; Dr Uma, Filmmaker, amongst others under the leadership of Dr. Rajanayagam, Director, People's Studies, Loyola College.
