A five day
camp for the underprivileged children was held at Swami Suddhananda
Ashram at Uthandi, ECR from May 5th to May 8th. A team of 32 students
between the age group of 12-18 participated in this camp.

in USA, the
camp in its
successful
third year,
aims at
building
leadership
qualities
and
motivates
students to
work towards
their goal
and become
better
citizens for
the future.
Other than
soft skills,
the programs
scheduled
for the
students
covered
various
topics like
Science,
Literature,
arts, games
and hand
works.
The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Sarathbabu, CEO of Food King
International, which was followed by the day long sessions scheduled to
be held for the students. In these five days the participants received
counseling on various special skills like personality development,
character building, team work, self esteem and body language. All these
skills were taught to them by indulging them in playing various games
which would provide the message to them in the end. Other than this the
students were trained on basic computer fundamentals, wherein they got a
chance to learn MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. At the end of every day a
long session of learning the children were let to play their favorite
games till the sunset.
Students are presented with awards every year and this time Quantum
Leap Academy presented a cash award of Rs.1001 to Ms. Muthulakshmi (a
participant of the camp last year) for her outstanding performance in
the higher secondary exams. She is the School Topper in Arignar Anna
Government School, Kumbakonam.
Fr. Jegath Gaspar Raj, founder of Tamil Maiyyam, Mr. Kalayana
Sundaram IAS, Mr.Muthuswamy, Mr. Seshadri, Swami Ishwarananda, a
disciple of Swami Suddhananda are some of the dignitaries who graced the
camp and interacted with the camp,
