In yet another form of landmark structures at Cathedral Road, the newly renovated Dr. Agarwal's Eye Clinic was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi on Saturday evening. Pioneering in offering the latest in eye care to India, this modern structure has also contributed to Ophthalmology through some of its innovative surgical techniques and innovations.
This renovated hospital shaped in the form of a human eye has the latest in the form of technology. It is the first to have revolving chambers, so as do deal quickly with more number of patients. It is also noted for the invention of a 0.7mm cataract surgery, which is the smallest of its kind.
According to Chief Minister, Mr. M Karunanidhi, "Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital being the pioneers of eye care is well known for their quality eye care services. I have come to them many a times and have received excellent treatment! They should continue their service to the society and the poor in an efficient way."
Agarwal's Group also plan on expanding their services to Mauritius.
Also present at the occasion were Dr. Amar Agarwal, Joint Managing Director of Agarwal's Group of Eye Hospitals and the Electricity Minister, Mr. Arcot Veerasami.
