Big Shopping at Big Bazaar... You will not know how much you have spent until you finish your shopping. A place which offers products for all your needs! Various brands, various utility and luxury products under one roof! Chennai, the hypermarket beckons!
Big Bazaar, the value retailing concept of Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd and a part of the Future Group! (Big brand banking!). The only hyper market of the city has definitely got a foot hold in the market. But surprisingly, this stand is not completely for the wide gamut of products but for the various discount offers this store presents. The 365 days discount on almost all products has been the tool used for market penetration.
What all does store or rather mall offer... Everything under the sun! From house decors to clothing and from vegetables to crockerys! This place has everything. This is how they had advertised for their store once.... Paal Vilayile Payasam (Payasam at the cost of Milk) More Vilayile Milkshake (Milkshake at the cost of Buttermilk) Scooter Vilayile Car (Car at the cost of Scooter).
Food Bazaar, Garment, Electronics etc sections are within one single entity. So you can finish all the shopping in one go. Movement within the bazaar is also hassle free. Verify your bills properly before leaving. But big bazaar is value for money and one cant negate it. Big Bazaar is nothing but a futile attempt to "Westernize" India. Money-minded individuals trying to sink the concept of International Standard day-to-day shopping to the general public!
Discount schemes are on for various products. Discount schemes were like a discount of Rs 100/- to Rs 150 on a shirt costing Rs 699/-. One shirt comes with one shirt costing Rs 499/-. At the billing counter, for each shirt bought they were giving free sugar at the rate of 1kg of sugar for each shirt bought. Offers like the buy back of newspapers and old clothes seems very attractive and profitable You have to shop for a stipulated amount more than the buy back rate to redeem the discount. Hats off Big Bazaar... You know how to take advantage of the buyers... Clearly crafted messages aimed at customers!
If you thought this was a place where you can wile away time by window shopping then correct yourself. This is a piece of advice... The clumsy and cluttered atmosphere will drive you to the billing counter very soon. The customer service is pathetic yet you can still approach the complaint cell for an eye wash relief.
