The Name is suggestive and conveys a thousand meanings. With the advent of high rise buildings, space is a constraint thus performing any function or ritual for the departed souls leaves many of us in a predicament. For marriages and other functions there are umpteen palatial halls and Kalyana Mantaps.
But what do we do for performing obsequies for our kith and kin?
Nanganallur and its environs which is thickly populated did not have any such building to perform the ablutions to the dead ones , till recently. A group of philanthropists felt it imperative to construct a premises which facilitates people perform the last rites.With the donations from the public and with contributions from their own members Mukthi Karma sthala was dedicated to the public.
Situated in an idyllic surrounding in Ullagaram bordering Nanganallur and Madipakkam Mukthi Karma Sthala is in ideal place to perform Karma for the departed souls.Mukthi Karma sthala trust is a charitable non profitable organization which is brain child of munificent persons whose sole aim is to ensure that the last rites are done without any hassles.
It is built in a sprawling area and the building wears a new and fresh look. It looks like a private nursing home with tiled floors and ceramic tiles adorning the walls.
There are many rooms in the ground floor where daily rites are observed immediately after the demise of a person.In the first floor there are umpteen rooms with neatly built modern kitchen with a la mode amenities. The granite slabs and cupboards make it easier for the users to store articles.
The rooms and kitchens are well ventilated and airy with fans and sparkling lights.
The rooms are provided with huge windows which enhances free air circulation.
A room with a kitchen is allocated to a family for performing the rituals.
The saving grace is a huge hall with several chairs enabling the visitors and senior citizens to sit comfortably. The Rotary foundation has provided purified drinking water .
Mukthi karma sthala is a sanctuary for the people who are in search of a suitable place to perform the last rites.
