In today's buzzing world of mind, money and pleasure, how important is the presence of children or kids in a couple's life? This question is something which is visited by every married couple today. Over the past years with the advent of IT sector jobs and other BPO jobs, both husband and wife work and they hardly have time to think about themselves. And Chennai one of the most happening IT base of the country, has contributed a great extent to a new genre under relationship and commitment.
Good salary package has all the more reason to squeeze greater work from employees and at the end of a long day and a strenuous week; the couple spend time for them selves even their own kid is considered an intrusion. This lifestyle has led to the concept of "Double Income, No Kids" commonly called as DINK.
Call it a need or a want, an additional income is always welcomed. And with man and women becoming more and more career conscious and the industry getting very competitive they put off having a baby.
Sharath, a BPO employee says, "I hardly get time to spend with my wife. And when we find some, I think even kids would be interference". When asked Ms.Nazneen, a psychologist about this growing trend she said, "There is nothing right or wrong about this trend. This also depends on the person's age and stage in lifecycle. Now in late twenties he/ she might ward off having a baby but at late thirties he'll desperately try to have a baby but you cannot exert the same control on your biological clock."
"Double Income, No Kids, "meaning plenty of funds for couples to exist and no kids to eat up your leisure time. And needless to say the trend can only be a one-dimensional affair
