It might sound and look very rosy to be called Miss Chennai. The fame, fortune and the most coveted title by any urban girl is to be called as a beauty of the city. All outward show makes anyone with good looks to think that participating in such beauty contests would land them to their dream destination. Of course it will fetch the crowned beauty the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but hardly does anyone know that the pathway to this is not just good looks.

Entries to such pageants are also not greatly difficult these days. With good contacts anyone can step into this competition. But what�s all the more important is the ability of the girl who has the passion for the title to withstand the pressure of the grooming sessions. So it is not just the IT company employees who are stressed� The numerous programmes for personality development, workshops on social etiquette, Ramp walk practices are equally strenuous. At least the corporates don�t have the pressure to look good end of the day.

Aparna, One of the participants of Miss Chennai couple of years back says, �There were traning sessions till about 2.00 a.m. Every minute thing contributing the overall personality of the contestants were noted and to a great extent moulded. We had Jeffreys Dance Training session, Chambor Makeup Session, Meditation session, Catwalk Training session .Even voice modulation and communication skills training session. Though these hectic schedules left me stressed, these are something which will help me throughout my life�

It�s not just the grooming session that exhausts their energy levels. Selecting costumes for each round, choosing the right item for the talent round, and not to forget the dieting schedule. �In one of the dance performance as apart of the contest we were paired with a co-contestant, luckily for me I jelled with my partner. But there were few issues here and other with regards to compatibility. But the event organizers sorted out the issues smoothly� explains Aparna

So it�s all hard work and a time consuming effort to build a good looking personality. It takes real passion and determination to achieve this dream. And not to forget the sportive spirit!
