Frequency Matters!

My only concern every morning is to reach office at the right time. Stepping into a crowded bus or not is remotely a problem. Buses might have a lot of negatives but the frequency of the madras transport corporation buses cannot be equaled by any other modes. With buses reaching the same destination hitting the terminus every five minutes, I only have to pray for a lighter traffic to reach office at the right time,.

The Share auto Way

The share auto is perhaps the best mode of transportation. Many stops, reasonable rates and good frequency! I go by share auto despite the crowd as it stops near my place - this is convenient since there is no direct bus from my house to college. I do not have to get squeezed in the crowded buses.

ECO FRIENDLY MODE OF TRANSPORATION

Am retired, every penny I spend is crucial for me at this stage. Therefore I prefer the most eco friendly mode of transportation, Cycling. I do not go long distance everyday. Buying vegetables, provisions, going to temple and to meet my friends, cycling not only is an eco friendly option but also an exercise for me.

Ladies Compartment - Nothing can beat this

Women of all age group flood the compartment almost at every time during the day. A woman courageously travels all by herself in the ladies compartment during early hours of the day and even till around 11.00pm in the night. This compartment provides so much safety to women travelers.

The pleasure of going with an unknown person in his bike for a short distance, then shifting to another vehicle is immense. It is an art also. Many people hesitate to ask lift, but trust me bikers are not that bad. And discussing the traffic problems on the route is the most interesting part.

My Natraja Service!

If there is something I can completely trust is my ability to walk fast and long distance. Though this option is restricted to only few kilometers now! I remember the days of my schooling. Walking was the best mode opted by people without hesitation. Things have changed vastly, but Nataraja service is the most energizing means of commutation.

Cozy car for the lazy family

I do not remember when my wife or kids travelled by public transportation last. Inflation, fuel price hike nothing can beat their comfort. It's the car which is preferred for all occasion. Many reasons are stated for not using the public transportation; crowd, time, etc but the underlying factor is that using a government bus or the suburban train is not as convenient as the chauffeur driven car.

Metro Train- Eagerly Awaited!

Nothing to crib about the frequency, connectivity and cost of public transport available in Chennai! But what I am eagerly awaiting is the Metro trains. This mode would perhaps uplift the existing image of Chennai.

Horse riding - for the dreamer!

Chennai provides me with more than few options for transportation within the city. All very convenient and if it is public transport then the rates are very cheap! But there will always be a special place for horse cart in my heart. I always dream about riding a horse to reach my workplace. I hope blue cross does not sue me for this thought.
