Looking striking in a green-orange costume,
Medha Hari disciple of Anitha Guha gave a dance recital recently at the
Brahma Gana Sabha. Right from the Pushpanjali in Gambeera Nattai till
her last piece Thillana, the pace and the tempo was maintained
absolutely well. The main piece Varnam 'Nee Indha Maayam' composed by
Papanasa Sivam was carried well by Medha where scenes from Krishna's
life were depicted with both the innocence and the shringara rasa. The
stage was all hers as she took over it with her unique jathi's and
abhinaya. While she danced away, a proud guru Anitha Guha watched her
with a smile. Next was a Padham 'Thumak Chalat Ramachandra' a
composition of Poet Tulsidas where he sings about Baby Ram and his
beauty. Her Abhinaya and Nritha were just outstanding as she carries
herself very well. She ended the recital with a Thillana in Brindavani
Ragam and a composition of Balamurli Krishna.
Be it the
innocent
expression or
the shy bhava, the tall and the slim
Medha entertained the audience for an hour and a half performance. Her
araimandi, attami, mudras needs a special mention as she was just too
perfect. The violin and the mirudangam gave a good support to her dance
and Anitha Guha rendered clear and neat jathi's along with her
nattuvangam. The choreography itself was a classic one as each item was
unique and brilliant. The whole point is that Medha enjoys her dance and
performs and that is the result of her fantabulous output. When dancers
always get tired after a Varnam, which is normally a long piece, Medha
danced till the Thillana with the same stamina and tempo and it never
got reduced at any point of time. Her mother Chitra Hari was the perfect
host that day as she proudly watched her daughter perform with a
satisfied smile. Currently pursuing her Chartered Accountancy, she has
given her Arangetram at the age of 10 and when asked her of how she
manages her studies and dance, says the beutiful Medha, "Dance is my
passion and my interest and good planning is enough for me to cope up
with both!"
