Mattel is all set to wave a magic wand across India with the launch of the much-coveted Harry Potter collection. The Harry Potter range includes a wide range of products across all categories - games & puzzles, role-plays, action-figures and play-sets, with an appeal that transcends age. The entire range is already available in leading toy-stores and retail outlets across 10 cities in India.
Based on the J.K. Rowling Harry Potter book series, the Harry Potter collection allows children to imagine and experience the magical world of Harry's life at Hogwarts with empowerment, friendship and adventure. The Harry Potter range in India is available across a wide price spectrum starting from as low as Rs.199 and going
up to Rs.3999.

In recent times, Harry Potter has seen one of the biggest successes in the entertainment world, encompassing the whole gamut of books, movies and toys. The J.K. Rowling Harry Potter book series have been published in 115 countries and in 28 languages with more than 18.4 million books in circulation in the U.S. alone. In India already 250,000 books have been sold till date.
Commenting on the importance of toys in a child's overall development, Ms.

Mattel is the master toy license of the Harry Potter toy collection, one of the most anticipated entertainment properties of the year. In the first wave, during Spring 2002, Mattel will introduce book-based products from
J.K.Rowling's first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." The second wave of products will be based on Warner Bros.' movie and will be available when the movie is launched in India. The entire Harry Potter collection is available across the following categories in India:
Action figures: Collectible figures that come to life and let kids play out all their favourite scenes from the movie. Each figure comes with a wizard's trick and casting stone. The Quidditch team includes Harry Potter, George.....the Wizard collection includes Voldemart, Geriphook.....the Slime series includes Malfoy, Hermione and other familiar characters from the movie.
Play sets: Kids can re-create their favourite scenes from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone" and watch them come to life with magical movements!! For example, Slime chamber play set...kids can enjoy some slimy fun with the giant slime-oozing snake; Hogwarts school........opens to music revealing eleven rooms of play. The play sets are attachable; thus the whole world of Harry Potter can be recreated!
