Poems
There is chaos in Kailasam, sings Rajeshwari

Domestic matters at abode Kailasam
Ever wonder how they fare?
Watch Vasuki dart at Ganesha’s mooshikam
While his lordship deep in prayer.
Now how dare he attack my dear friend,
And our Vinayakar’s vehicle, murine?
Why, I’ll rip that reptile apart end to end
Screamed the peacock of Murugan, divine.
O’ what be that hissing-screeching loud
That disrupts my ladyship’s sleep?
I shall humble and teach that peacock proud
Roared the lioness as she did leap.
If such fracas, chaos and affray
Prevails in the Siva-Shakthi abode;
Why worry about our own disarray
As long as bhakti we don’t erode?

(This poem is based on an anonymous Sanskrit sloka).
