White, blue, shades red and yellow
Your myriad moods a hard to follow,
Who are you? Man or woman?
Are you for real, are you human?
And ever again in the wink of an eye,
Like the azure, sprawling, searching sky.
Inscrutable your ways - transparent and opaque,
As from active slumber to light you awake.
Such spiritual tempest do I visualise
My Lord, master and mother so wise...
This verse is an adaptation from the following Bengali verse
by Kamalakanta Bhattacharya, excerpted from R K Das Gupta's book:
Swami Vivekananda on Indian Philosophy and Literature.
Kakhana shveta, kakhana pita
Kakhana nila lohita re
Kakhana purush kakhan prakriti
Kakhan shunya mahakasha re
(A Tamil version of the above by veNbA virumbi is given below.)
