Australia still has a chance: Gilchrist - Scorecard

Chennai, Oct 15: Australian captain Adam Gilchrist said his team still had a good chance to stage a come back in the second test but added that tomorrow's first one-and-half hours play would be crucial for the team.

"We were not looking at the end result today. We were trying to stay in the game. Today was damage control," Gilchrist said, at a talk show here on `The Art of Winning" with commentator and former Australian batsman Dean Jones.

"The first one to one-and-half hours play tomorrow is crucial for us," he said, adding that Australia still have a good chance to beat India, if the team played well in the remaining sessions. He termed Virender Sehwag's 155 as "outstanding".

"At one stage, his score was 150 out of India's total of 220," he said. Replying to a question, Gilchrist said, Sachin Tendulkar was the greatest batsman he had played against, closely followed by West Indies captain Brian Lara.

"He (Sachin) looks more comfortable and in control of everything. He is definitely the best batsman I've played against," Gilchrist said. (Agencies)
