Guwahati, July 18: BCCI secretary Niranjan
Shah said former captain Kapil Dev has been asked to make a
choice between the Chairman's job at the National Cricket
Academy (NCA) and the similar post he holds in the Executive
Board of the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL). Talking to
reporters here today, Shah said BCCI could not accept Kapil as
head of both NCA and ICL.
Shah made it clear that there was no question
of recognising the players registered with the ICL. The BCCI
official also announced that the board would also lay stress on
players from the eastern region particularly Assam, West Bengal
and Orissa and launch talent hunts to include them in the
national team. Shah is here to attend an Assam Cricket
Association (ACA) function.(Agencies)
