Australia, Pak tour schedule modified Features

Mumbai, July 19: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has altered some dates and venues of forthcoming tours to India by Australia and Pakistan later this year.

As per the revised BCCI schedule, Australia and India would play the fourth of their best-of-seven ODI series on October 8 at Chandigarh's Sector 16 stadium.

This was necessitated as Haryana Cricket Association had decided to host the originally allotted ODI against Pakistan in Chandigarh instead of the originally scheduled Faridabad.

As per the BCCI's policy, the same city cannot host two ODIs of the same series. Mohali, on the outskirts of Chandigarh, was already hosting a ODI against Pakistan. Haryana, instead of hosting the first ODI against Pakistan, will conduct the fourth ODI against Australia while Guwahati, earlier scheduled to play host to the series opener against Australia, has been allotted the opener against Pakistan.

The Pakistan tour dates have also been advanced to accommodate the venue changes and they play their first ODI on November 5 instead of November 6 and will play the second ODI on November 8 instead of the earlier scheduled November 9. The rest of the Pakistan programme remains the same.

Australia are slated to play seven ODIs and a Twenty20 tie against India (to be confirmed) during their visit from September 25 to October 20, while Pakistan will play five ODIs followed by a three-Test series between November 1 and December 12. (Agencies)
