Chennai, July 23: A state-of-the-art cricket stadium of international standard would be built near the city to host the 2011 World Cup, Tamil Nadu Government announced today.

The decision was taken at a State Cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

The government would lease 50 acres of land in Karunguzhipallam village near the IT Corridor for the purpose to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association following its request, an official release here said. (Our Correspondent)
