Mumbai, Mar 21 Talented youngster Rohit Sharma, one of the success stories of the tri-series win in Australia, will be among the star attractions at the Petroleum Sport Promotion Board Inter-Unit Cricket Tournament starting tomorrow in Mumbai.
The competition, to be concluded on March 31, will see a number of Ranji Trophy cricketers in action.
Rohit Sharma, representing Indian Oil, heads the list of players that includes Ajay Ratra, Sarandeep Singh, Rahul Sanghvi, Gagan Khoda (all ONGC), Sairaj Bahutule, Avishkar Salvi (both BPCL) and Mithun Manhas, among others, it was announced at a media conference here.
GAIL, CPCL, OIL, MRPL and EIL will play a mini league from tomorrow till March 26 to identify the top two teams which will advance to the six-team Super League also featuring the two host units, ONGC and IOL, semifinalists at the last edition.
Matches in the preliminary stage would be played over 40 overs and ties in the Super League onwards will be held over 45 overs, the organisers said. (Agencies)
