Tendulkar, who made his debut against Pakistan at Gujranwala in 1989, had achieved this feat for the first time at Eden Gardens against South Africa last year. Tendulkar, while playing his 357th match, had surpassed former Pakistan all rounder Wasim
Akram.
Tendulkar had since fallen behind with injuries keeping him out of ODIs, and the top slot rotated between Jayasuriya and
Inzamam.
Inzamam became the most capped player in September this year when he appeared in his 364th ODI versus England at Rose Bowl.
The burly right-hander surpassed Jayasuriya's record. Tendulkar was 363 ODI old then and could have reclaimed the spot in the DLF cup in Malaysia had India reached the finals. (Agencies)
